A big thank you to our volunteers

April 18, 2012

The Fraser River Discovery Centre has a fantastic team of volunteers who arepassionate about the Fraser River and love to share their enthusiasm with the public. Their contributions include leading educational programs for visiting school groups, conducting exhibit research, presenting guided tours, and hosting special events.

To celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of our volunteers, we hosted a luncheon this past Saturday. It was a really fun afternoon filled with good food, games, and entertainment. Louise Towell, of Stream of Dreams Murals Society led the volunteers in painting a fish for our Stream of Dreams fence by the Fraser River, we played a rousing round of Fraser River inspired Jeopardy to see who had been studying their volunteer manuals lately, and volunteers enjoyed sandwiches and ice cream sundaes thanks to our community sponsors Royal City Safeway, Save-on-Foods and MarketPlace IGA.

Thank you volunteers!
